Didier composes and records his first singer album with the collaboration for the texts of Etienne Roda-Gil.

Johnny Hallyday gives him his first real chance by inviting him for his summer tour to sing in the first part.

Didier composes during the summer of 1978 the album “DELIVERANCE” which is released in December of the same year and which one is before its commercial release 4 times gold disc in France. Huge success also around the world. 

Release of the album “Just Blue” with a huge advertising and marketing campaign. The album is number 1 in France and ranks n°45 on the Billboard sales in the USA… First for a French group.

Didier composes the callsign of the first Science Fiction show on television “Temps X” presented by the Bogdanoff brothers.

Didier composes, produces and realizes an album in the United States for a female group: “Fantasm”; 5 beautiful young girls, singing and dancing and corresponding to 5 different fantasies.

That year, he recorded a new album of songs: “Seul dans la Ville”

June 1983: His music being very well known in the Soviet Union, Didier and his band SPACE are invited by the Soviet Ministry of Culture to give a series of 21 Concerts in the Soviet Union gathering more than 600,000 spectators in Moscow in the Olympic Hall, Leningrad and Kiev; this is the first time that a French Artist has performed in such large stadiums; his tour is a real musical and social phenomenon.

The music and the concerts strike the imagination of the spectators who discover the use of lasers in concert for the first time and who will transmit to their children the love of SPACE music and the respect for its creator. 18 years later, it is young people between the ages of 15 and 25 who come to SPACE’s concerts.

An album of songs: “Debout les mômes” in collaboration with Christian Eclimont for the texts.

He produces an album for Daniel LEVI “Cocktail”; their collaboration will last 3 years.

He produces and composes for Gloria GAYNOR “My Love is Music” and “If I Need You” which are very successful in Europe.

Composition and Production for other Artists.

June 1987 : Didier is working on his album: “SPACE-OPERA”, the 1st Space Opera, composed for Synthesizers and Choirs.

This album is sent to the Soviet space station “MIR”, it is the first time that a disc is sent and broadcast in Space; this CD will be launched together with a player and 2 speakers in space by the Soviet cosmonauts as a sign of hope and communication. “SPACE OPERA” is a great success in Europe.

January 1990 : At the request of the organizations of the European Area (ES.A, C.N.E.S, ARIANESPACE), Didier is giving a big concert for the 10th anniversary of the ARIANE rocket bringing together more than 40,000 people in Cayenne (French Guiana).

Juillet 14^th, 1990 : Big concert in Golf-Juan at the end of the 1st Festival of Jean Marais, with the participation of 60 choristers from the Monaco OperaMay 1991 : Didier MAROUANI & SPACE return to the Soviet Union to give 14 concerts; a team of 40 people (musicians, technicians) accompany in Moscow, Leningrad and Kiev – the one who became one of the favorite French Artists of the Soviets.

June 21st, 1992: After 1 year of negotiations with the Mayor of Moscow and the Russian government, Didier obtains the necessary authorizations to give the first concert on RED SQUARE.

10 Years later, his dream comes true. 360,000 Spectators attend this concert where Didier & SPACE invite very big Russian and International stars.

Thanks to this concert, Red Square once again became, like in the past, a place where popular celebration is possible.

August 1992: 2 Concerts given in KAZAKHSTAN in ALMA-ATY. 

A year dedicated to the composition of film music and the production of television shows.

January 1995: Release in the ex-USSR of the album “SPACE MAGIC CONCERTS” and in Southeast Asia (Taiwan, Thailand).

Release in all the Soviet republics by Polygram Russia of the 8 CDs, collecting all the recordings of Didier & SPACE.

Twenty years after the original publication of “MAGIC FLY”, he signs a distribution contract with VIRGIN for the 4 SPACE Albums…

Novembre 1^st, 2001: Didier Marouani & SPACE created their new album “SYMPHONIC SPACE DREAM” on stage in Kiev at the Ukrainian Palace with the participation of the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine (110 musicians) in front of 5,000 enthusiastic people.

DIDIER MAROUANI finished mixing the new SPACE album :

«SYMPHONIC SPACE DREAM».

After 5 months of recordings in New York, he requested and obtained the participation of the Symphony Orchestra of St. Petersburg (150 musicians).

By merging his musical universe with that one of a Symphony Orchestra and trying to prove that there is no difference between the different musical genres, Didier MAROUANI thus accesses a dream and an ambition long cherished.

More than 8 months were necessary to record and mix this album which combines Dance rhythms, Soaring synthesizers and Symphony Orchestra.

Once again “SYMPHONIC SPACE DREAM” is an album where the melodic sense of Didier Marouani is found in each one of the tracks.

Didier Marouani & SPACE gave 3 Concerts in Russia :

October 25^th, 2002 in Moscow at the Kremlin Theater (6,000 People) with the participation of the Presidential Symphony Orchestra.

On October 27^th, 2002 in St. Petersburg, more than twelve thousand people cheered the French band and its leader.

October 3^rd, 2002 in Novosibirsk (5,500 People), with the participation of the Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra.

These Concerts throughout Russia showed if it was still necessary that Didier Marouani & SPACE enjoy an extraordinary popularity which has been constantly renewed for 20 years and which has been transmitted to the new generation.

MAGIC FLY has been remix in England by a young band call « S Club Junior » and has been n°1 England during 8 weeks in Singles and Albums.

Concerts in Ukraine in Dnepropetrovsk, over 70.000 people assisted to the concert.

September 5th of 2005: The President of North Ossetia, M. Taimouraz Dz. Mamsurov and the chief of the Parliament, M. Alexander Totoonov invited Didier Marouani to participate to the Requiem for Beslan with the biggest Russian Stars including Valery Gergiev, which will been held September 5th 2005 at the Russia Theater to commemorate the first Anniversary of the tragedy of Beslan.

This concert has been broadcast on the first Russian National TV channel. Didier Marouani was the only foreign Artist who participated to the Requiem.

A concerts Tour will start in Russia between April 22nd and May 1st 2006 (April 23^rd in St. Petersburg – April 26^th in Moscow – April  28^th in Samara – April 30^th in Kazan)

A new DVD « SYMPHONIC CONCERTS » recorded during the last Symphonic Concerts will be release in September 2006.

Composition of the new SPACE Album “FROM EARTH TO MARS”. A single has been release in exclusivity in Russia in November 2008.

November 8th 2008: A huge concert in Moscow at the Olympiyskiy Stadium for the Anniversary of RETRO-FM (one of the biggest Radio station in Russia) in front of 18.000 people.

October 2009: Concert in Armenia in Erevan, a new show, with new lights, laser and video projections for 13.000 people.

November 2009: Nang Records in England released a “BEST OF SPACE” completely remastered with 14 tracks, also a CD with 14 remixes will be release in November; the first Promo reports are excellent and the European release should be done before the end of the year.

The release of the new SPACE album “FROM EARTH TO MARS” will happen around February 2011. Didier received the acceptance of ROSCOSMOS that they will depose this CD during the first Human flight to Mars.

November 2010: Concert tour in Russia (Ufa, Ekaterinburg, Saint Petersburg, Moscow)

April 2011: For the 50th Anniversary of the Yuri Gagarin first flight in Space, the Russian ministries of space and Culture invited Didier Marouani & SPACE to give 2 concerts in Moscow, one in Star Cities (April 12^th 2011) with many Russian cosmonauts and on April 13^th 2011 at the Kremlin theater. During this concert they created a song tribute to Yuri Gagarin call “Gagarin Hurrah” with the participation of the Red Army choirs, 2 famous Russian cosmonauts Alexander and Sergey VOLKOV and Jean- Loup Chretien (French cosmonaut).

July 6th & 8th 2011: Didier has been invited with SPACE to participate to the biggest Eastern Festival “SLAVIANSKI BAZAR” in Belarus. They gave 2 concerts in front of 12.000 people. Huge success in this country where their notoriety is as big as in Russia. One of their concerts has been broadcast live on Russian, Ukrainian and Belarus TV’s.

2012: Didier is composing a big musical call “The Race to space”, with 25 news songs.

June 29th 2013: Didier MAROUANI & SPACE will give a huge concert on June 29th 2013 in Moscow at the Olympic Stadium Luzhniki (80.000 people) to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the first concerts tour in USSR that bring over 600.000 people in 21 concerts and to close the Rugby at 7 World cup.

The Russian ministry of space “ROSKOSMOS” confirmed to Didier MAROUANI that during this concert, the Italian Cosmonaut Luca Parmitano, that is part of the SOYOUZ TMA-09M crew and will be into the International Space Station (ISS) at 370 kilometers from the earth, will play live with Didier the melody of their worldwide Hit “MAGIC FLY” on his synthesizer that will be into the l’ISS.

The images of the cosmonaut playing into the ISS has been broadcast on giant screens on each side of the stage and Didier MAROUANI & SPACE played together with him.

This has been a Musical and Technology world premiere.

November 7^th 2013: Didier MAROUANI & SPACE participated a concert of QUARTET I in Moscow for 20^th Anniversary of this band.

February 28^th 2014: Didier participated a concert of Jamilya Serkebaeva “5^th Element” at the Palace of the Republic in Almaty (Kazakhstan)

Didier composed a soundtrack for a Russian movie.

Didier worked on his musical “The Race to space” together with Christian-Louis Eclimont that is writing the Script and the Lyrics of the songs.

March 26st 2015: Didier has been awarded in Kiev at Palace of Ukraine “Men of the year 2015” for his Musical career achievement (International Prize “For Strengthening Cultural Contacts and Spiritual Rapprochement of Peoples”). This show has been broadcast at the Ukrainian first TV Channel.

October 23rd 2015: Didier participated in Kiev at a Zhenia KHMARA concert, that he met in 1995, Zhenia was 8 years old and became a Virtuoso at the piano and give concerts in Ukraine and in different Europeans countries.

November 21st 2015: Didier participated to a charity concert in Saint Petersburg at SIBUR Arena (6.000 people) for the benefit of the Russian orphans.

Several concerts in Russian Federation and Ukraine, Soundtrack for movies and commercials.

Concert tour in Ukraine in Kiev and different towns, over 100.000 for the Kiev Anniversary in May 2019, also in Russia all concerts has been sold out (Krasnodar, Saint Petersburg, Moscow, Vladivostok, Irkutsk, Novosibirsk, Chelyabinsk, Ekaterinburg, Voronezh).

September 25, 2021: The official presentation of Didier MAROUANI’s planet in Moscow on VDNH. The planet was discovered on November 23^rd, 2009 by astronomer Timur Kryachko from Moscow. The International Astronomical Union has approved the name of the planet in honor of Didier MAROUANI
